The HNLC claimed responsibility for the IED, framing it as a symbolic protest against the alleged exploitation of indigenous communities by corrupt political and business entities. In response, Tynsong challenged the group to clarify the specific grievances they cited, asserting that the government and elected officials remain dedicated to safeguarding public interests.

With the investigation at a critical juncture, Tynsong withheld operational details to avoid hampering progress but assured that the police would share updates once significant milestones are reached. Police said that they anticipate further arrests as the probe continues.
