This election follows the ECI’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which resulted in the removal of 68.5 lakh names and the addition of 21.5 lakh new voters. Kumar noted, “The finalised voter list, shared with all political parties, will be updated once nominations are filed, and that will be the definitive list for the elections.”

To streamline the voting process, the CEC confirmed that each polling station will accommodate a maximum of 1,200 voters, enhancing efficiency and accessibility.
