According to the ACA, tickets will be available exclusively through online platform BookMyShow (BMS) from 4 pm on the day of release. Spectators who successfully book their tickets will receive an e-ticket, or M-ticket, which will allow direct entry into the stadium without the need for physical passes.

In a bid to make the high-profile international fixture accessible to fans from all sections of society, the ACA has kept ticket prices affordable. Specially priced tickets for students will be available at ₹500, while tickets for other stands will be priced from ₹1,000 onwards. The association expressed confidence that the pricing structure would encourage strong turnout for the marquee encounter.

The Guwahati T20I forms part of a high-profile limited-overs series between India and New Zealand, which begins on January 11 and runs through January 31. The tour will feature three One Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals, to be played across multiple venues in the country.

The series holds particular significance as it comes at a crucial stage of India’s international calendar. Several senior players are expected to return to the ODI setup, while the T20 side will use the matches as a final phase of preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to begin on February 7.

The ODI leg is expected to attract widespread attention, with stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma likely to make their return to the 50-over format. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the squad for the T20I series, while the ODI squad is yet to be finalised. The BCCI selection committee is expected to convene an online meeting around January 3 or 4 to select the ODI squad for the home series.

For the T20Is, India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, with the squad featuring Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, Washington Sundar and Ishan Kishan. New Zealand’s T20I squad will be captained by Mitchell Santner and includes Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Bevon Jacobs, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Robinson and Ish Sodhi.

New Zealand have already announced their ODI squad as well, with Michael Bracewell named captain. The squad includes Adi Ashok, Kristian Clarke, Josh Clarkson, Devon Conway, Zak Foulkes, Mitch Hay, Kyle Jamieson, Nick Kelly, Jayden Lennox, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips, Michael Rae and Will Young.

The ACA said the Guwahati T20I offers another opportunity for Assam to reinforce its growing stature on the international cricketing map. The association has invited cricket fans from across the region to turn up in large numbers and be part of what promises to be a thrilling international contest. The details were shared in an official statement by ACA Chief Executive Officer Pritam Mahanta.
