Assam: Armed Miscreants Attack Two Businessmen in Boko, One Seriously Injured

Guwahati: In an incident in Boko under the Kamrup district of Assam, a group of individuals reportedly attacked two businessmen, resulting in one of them being seriously injured.

According to the victim’s statement, two businessmen, identified as Mukuta Das from Guwahati and Pranab Das from Boko, went to Deochar to collect bricks from a brick kiln. Upon arrival, two cars stopped in front of them. A group of around 15 individuals, reportedly armed with rods and pistols, exited the vehicles and attacked them.

The attackers first assaulted Pranab Das. During the chaos, Mukuta Das managed to escape and hid inside a nearby brick kiln, narrowly saving his life. However, Pranab Das was severely injured in the assault and was admitted to Apollo Excelcare Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.

Speaking about the incident, the victim alleged that some of the attackers were locals and claimed that two of them had been identified as Jitu Das and Mustak Amin.

“It is very shocking that nowadays people can carry pistols in their hands without any fear of the police. We had gone to an unfamiliar place and had no safety. What are the police doing about this situation?” the victim said.

Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint at the Boko Police Station. Although police detained two suspects and took them to the hospital, they have not been formally arrested yet, raising doubts in the minds of the victims.

The incident has raised serious concerns among locals as miscreants reportedly roam with weapons even during the evening hours.
