"Assam"s Director General of Police (DGP), Harmeet Singh, reassured the public that the investigation into the death of beloved singer Zubeen Garg is proceeding diligently and in accordance with legal protocols.Advertisment Addressing reporters, Singh called for public trust in the authorities and urged citizens to refrain from interfering with the ongoing process. “The investigation is moving forward correctly. We are dedicated to ensuring justice. We request everyone to let us follow legal procedures,” he stated, responding to heightened public interest in the case. The investigation gained momentum following the arrest of two key suspects, Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma, who are now in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a 14-day period. On Wednesday, both individuals were presented at the residence of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Guwahati"s Alpana Apartment, Geetanagar. After a closed-door hearing, the CJM approved the SIT"s request to detain Mahanta and Sharma for further questioning. Mahanta was apprehended in Singapore and brought to Assam via Delhi, while Sharma, who served as Zubeen Garg"s manager, was also detained for his alleged role in the case. Police stated that both individuals are critical to unravelling the circumstances surrounding the singer"s sudden and mysterious death."
