Assam: Suspicious Death of Truck Driver Sparks Outrage in Rangia's Moranjana

Guwahati: The body of a local trucker was discovered on Monday night in Rangia of Kamrup, Assam, sparking outrage among locals who suspect the incident to be a murder.

The incident took place in Moranjana village under the Rangia police jurisdiction, after the body of a local truck driver was found in a roadside drain adjacent to an industrial facility.

The victim has been identified as Aizul Haque, a 35-year-old resident of Khopanikuchi village in Rangia.

Reports claimed that Haque had delivered a load of scrap iron rods to the KD Iron Company in Moranjana earlier that evening. While his truck was parked at the company's entrance, his body was discovered submerged in a nearby drainage channel, prompting immediate concerns of foul play.

Upon receiving reports, officers from Rangia Police Station rushed to the site, recovered the remains, and conveyed them to the station for detailed examination.

Police have initiated a comprehensive inquiry to determine if the incident was an unfortunate accident or a deliberate act of violence.

In the wake of the incident, Haque's grieving family has vehemently claimed that he was murdered, urging police to conduct a probe and swiftly apprehend any perpetrators.

Updates on the investigation are expected as police deepen their efforts.
