"In an outburst following the court hearing in the ongoing death case of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, branded Siddharth Sharma and Shyamkanu Mahanta "demons" and insisted they must face justice.Advertisment Speaking to reporters after the session, Garima, expressing grief and anger, stated, "I do not consider these demons (Siddharth and Shyamkanu) as human beings. These monsters must be punished without fail." She added that she is in an emotional void left by her husband's death. She said, "Zubeen Garg was the emotion of all of us. His passing is not an ordinary incident." Garima further demanded the harshest consequences, adding, "These demons must be slain, and they deserve nothing less." Her comments came amid the trial, where seven individuals, including Siddharth Sharma (Zubeen's manager) and Shyamkanu Mahanta (festival organiser), are facing "murder" charges after the beloved singer passed away in Singapore. Zubeen Garg mysteriously died in Singapore in September 2025 while swimming in the sea. He was in Singapore to attend the North East India Festival scheduled from September 20 to 22. However, Zubeen died during the alleged accident on September 19 and the primary cause behind this was claimed to be gross negligence by his manager, Siddharth.
