The incident has intensified public anger, with residents accusing the police of remaining silent despite repeated complaints.

According to reports, the woman was found inside a room at a resort operating under the name Enigma Resort. Locals allege that the establishment allows young women to spend the night with men in exchange for money, raising strong suspicions of an organised sex trade running in the district.

The situation escalated when locals received information about a young couple staying at the resort. Upon reaching the spot, they reportedly found objectionable items near the room. The woman was detained, while the man—believed to be from a different religious community—managed to flee. Locals further claim that a few people helped him escape, triggering additional resentment.

Following the development, Sribhumi Police reached the scene after being informed and took the woman to the local station for questioning.

People in the area insisted this is not an isolated case. Just days earlier, visuals of an uncontrolled party inside another resort in the district had gone viral, sparking similar concerns. They allege that several resorts continue to operate as centres of illegal and immoral activities, while the police remain mere spectators.

“Who is allowing these activities to continue? How can such illegal operations run so openly in the name of resorts?” a local questioned.

The incident has led to renewed demands for the police to launch an immediate crackdown and conduct a transparent investigation into resorts allegedly functioning as hubs of unlawful activities across the Sribhumi district.

Police have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
