The document is en route to Guwahati, where the Special Investigation Team (SIT) leading the probe awaits its arrival. "The SIT has achieved significant headway and remains on track to file the chargesheet within the stipulated timeline," Sarma affirmed.

He emphasised the investigators' round-the-clock dedication to delivering justice in this widely watched matter, which stems from Garg's tragic death on September 19 while swimming near a yacht in Singapore ahead of a performance.

Dismissing doubters, the Chief Minister challenged: "Sceptics questioning justice for Zubeen Garg should rethink their position by December 15 and recognise the SIT's tireless efforts—they'll need to retract their statements."

Sarma categorically rejected efforts to turn the investigation into a political football. "Distractions like Bangladeshi infiltration won't impede progress. Certain elements have tried to preempt outcomes, but truth will triumph," he asserted.

In a pointed remark, he added: "Lurinjyoti [Gogoi] isn't forgoing elections for Zubeen's justice—tell Akhil Gogoi to withdraw his candidacy. The Chief Minister always upholds the truth."

Escalating the rhetoric, Sarma accused Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi of "operating as a Pakistani operative," claiming substantial evidence exists. "Election constraints have stayed my hand so far. Post-resolution of Zubeen's case, Gaurav Gogoi will face scrutiny."

The SIT, formed shortly after Garg's body returned for a second autopsy, has recorded over 90 statements, seized evidence, and coordinated with Singapore via Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT). Seven arrests—including Garg's manager, festival organiser, cousin (a DSP), and bandmates—have been made amid poisoning allegations.

A fast-track court and special prosecutor ensure swift proceedings, reflecting public outcry and the government's pledge: "Vote us out in 2026 if justice isn't served."
