Anurag Kashyap Named as ‘Bollywood Guy’ in Epstein Files

The release of the Epstein Files has caused a huge stir on social media. Political figures, officials and celebrities are all being discussed as photos and documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender, continue to circulate widely online, especially on platforms like Reddit. 

According to a Moneycontrol report, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is mentioned in some email exchanges found in the Epstein Files. In these emails, he is referred to as the “Bollywood guy.” The messages involve Epstein and his associates Giuseppe Bersani, Gino Yu and Ornella Corazza and talk about Epstein’s possible travel plans to places like Cuba. Kashyap’s name appears in a list of people who were expected to attend workshops related to Buddhism, technology and medicine.

Has Anurag Kashyap been named in the Epstein Files?

After the US Department of Justice released over 3 million documents on January 30, Kashyap’s mention led to mixed reactions online. However, there is no proof that Anurag Kashyap ever met Jeffrey Epstein or was present at the same place as him.
Also, his name does not appear in confirmed court records, flight logs or sworn testimonies connected to Epstein. There is also no allegation, legal case, or credible investigation linking him to Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, or any criminal activity.

The emails only list Anurag Kashyap among several other public figures, including Ben Goertzel, Bruce Damer, and DJ Spooky, described as “cool people” invited to gatherings in places like Shanghai. There is no evidence of any illegal activity linked to these mentions.

Anurag Kashyap, however, is not the only celebrity to be named. Reports state that actor Nandita Das has also been mentioned in the Epstein Files. A 2015 newsletter by Jem Bendell invited Epstein to the Lake District Festival in the UK and listed Nandita as one of the speakers. The event reportedly included activities like music sessions, kayaking, yoga, nature walks, dance lessons, and storytelling workshops.
