The aircraft eventually departed Ahmedabad at 8:30 am and landed in Guwahati at 11 am.He was received at the airport by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP national vice-president and Assam in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, other senior party leaders, and top government and police officials.Following a revised itinerary, the Home Minister proceeded directly from the airport to Batadrava in Nagaon district—the birthplace of the revered Vaishnav saint-philosopher Srimanta Sankardeva.
