The alleged assault reportedly occurred on Sunday evening at a park in the Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi, close to the Saket District Court Complex. The incident has once again raised questions about the safety of Northeast residents in the national capital.

According to preliminary accounts, the victims were walking in the park when a group of youths allegedly began making racially offensive remarks at them. When the woman objected to the comments, a verbal altercation reportedly escalated into violence.

The victims alleged that the group then attacked them physically, punching and striking them with belts while continuing to use abusive and racially derogatory language. One of the accused reportedly used a slur during the confrontation.
