Pulwama Attack 7th Anniversary: PM Modi Pay Tribute to Martyrs During Assam Visit

New Delhi: The seventh anniversary of the Pulwama attack is being observed across India today, with leaders paying tribute to the security personnel who lost their lives and remembering its impact on national security.

On February 14, 2019, a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was travelling on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, when a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden car into the CRPF bus, resulting in the deaths of 40 CRPF personnel. The day is often remembered as a “Black Day” in India’s history.

Marking the seventh anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the soldiers during his Assam visit on Saturday. He said the world saw how India punished terrorists. He also paid his tributes to the CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack.

The Prime Minister added, “Today is the anniversary of the Pulwama attack. I bow to the brave sons of Mother India who lost their lives in this attack. After this terrorist attack, the way India punished the terrorists was witnessed by the entire world. Some people are still trembling even today. You have seen India's strength in Operation Sindoor.”
