The only officials present to receive her were from the Assam Cricket Association (ACA). The Gorkha Students' Union (GSU) has expressed strong displeasure over the government's absence, terming it a "sad day for Assam's sports". "The Prime Minister called her Assam's daughter, but the state government ignored her. Why this negligence towards Assam's First World Cup Winner?"
