Nagaland Police Rescue Abducted Businessman, Arrest Five Suspects in Dimapur

Nagaland Police successfully rescued a local businessman abducted from his residence in Dubagaon, under Dimapur police station, on Friday, according to officials.

Nagaland Police successfully rescued a local businessman abducted from his residence in Dubagaon, under Dimapur police station, on Friday, according to officials.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Dimapur, announced the arrest of five individuals linked to the abduction, including two cadres of the Wangtin-led National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN).

The suspects were identified as Antu Mech (30), a tatar (MP) of the NSCN, Nagato Sumi (37), alias ‘Rajapeyu,’ David Chishi (40), Amento Swu (40), and Ruksana Begum (28).

The police acted swiftly after receiving a tip at approximately 2:35 PM on Friday about the kidnapping of a fish wholesaler by three unidentified perpetrators. A prompt search operation led to the apprehension of the five suspects and the safe rescue of the victim on the same day.

Authorities have seized the vehicle used in the crime, and a case has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station. The investigation remains ongoing to uncover further details, the statement added.
