Outrage Grows as Siddhartha Sharma Allegedly Controls Zubeen Garg’s Digital Rights

In the wake of Assamese music icon Zubeen Garg’s untimely death, allegations have emerged that his former manager, Siddhartha Sharma, has gained exclusive control over the digital rights to the singer’s extensive musical catalogue.

According to several sources, Sharma now holds sole authority over Zubeen Garg Music LLP, the entity responsible for managing and monetising the late artist’s music on digital platforms.

This reportedly allows Sharma to collect substantial annual royalties, estimated to be worth crores, from streaming services such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Gaana.

The revelation has triggered widespread anger among Garg’s fans, many of whom have voiced strong criticism of Sharma since the singer’s passing. Supporters have called on authorities to intervene and prevent Sharma from further profiting from Garg’s legacy.

Officials have stated that Sharma has been missing since the artist’s death.

There were reports that Siddhartha was seen during Zubeen's last rites. However, the reports were never confirmed.

Garima Saikia Garg, speaking to the media, said that she had not heard from Siddhartha since Zubeen Garg's death. 

Some reports also suggested that Siddhartha Sharma was still in Delhi and may have moved out of Delhi to some other state.

Although an investigation has been initiated, much about it has not yet been revealed.
